‘What’s for tea Mummy?’ AAAAAAGGGHHH!!! It drives me bonkers!!
It’s not a huge decision, but it’s one I, and mums up & down the country, face every single day… day in – day out… 365 days a year.
I’m no Michelin star chef & I must admit my cooking ability is fairly limited so I really struggle to cook something different, tasty & nutritious. I’d settle for being able to produce 1 out of those 3 but I find I still end up making the same old same old..
Cottage pie – stew & dumplings – spaghetti bolognese – lasagne – chicken casserole… (the list doesn’t go on!)
That’s pretty much my whole mealtime repertoire. I’ve convinced myself that if I vary the veg or the type of potato I serve it with, I may trick the family into thinking we’ve had something different!!
I’ve just dug the meat out of the freezer ready for tea tomorrow & here we are again – big decision – cottage pie or spag bol?!?! It’s like groundhog day! So off I go to the internet looking for mealtime inspiration & come across an abundance of recipes only to find I’m missing half of the ingredients.
Oh well….. cottage pie it is then! Think i’ll throw in that tin of beans so I can say I’ve made something different!
